Avling, located at 1042 Queen St E in Toronto, is more than a restaurant; it's a culinary experience defined by sustainability and ingenuity. Guests rave about the rooftop gardens that supply fresh vegetables and spices, merging farm-to-table dining with vibrant brewing traditions. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, making it a perfect spot for both families and friends. Rick Buck, a delighted patron, highlighted the warm hospitality of the staff, particularly Trish and Sam, who made everyone feel at home. The menu features enticing offerings like the big Jerk Wings and Buttermilk Chicken Sliders—each dish bursting with flavors that leave diners craving more. Joan Zheng noted the standout mussel dish, earning her 4.5 stars despite minor waiting times for the food. Expect a friendly vibe, as seen in reviews from Felipe Gombossy, who appreciated the easy-drinking IPAs alongside flavorful appetizers like Cod Tongues. The brunch options, particularly the BLT Benny, provide a hearty yet refreshing start to the day. Avling is a must-visit for its delicious food, craft beverages, and the palpable sense of community. Whether you’re popping in for dinner or brunch, it's a culinary journey worth taking.

We attended Avling restaurant yesterday for dinner and drinks and this place is beyond cool. They grow their own vegetables, spices etc. on the roof and they brew their own drinks in the back brewing area , which were all amazing. The food was incredible. The staff goes all out to make you feel at home. Trish and Sam always had a smile and were very welcoming. Amazing experience I would recommend for everyone to go. Thank you for an amazing evening.

Visited Avling for the first time - for a pre-Crows Theatre meal. Highly recommend it. Service was attentive and friendly. The food took time to arrive but was delicious and satisfying. I enjoyed my Caesar’s salad with black bean and quinoa fritters with a side of nice cold Pilsner.

Great beers. We tried both IPAs, and they are really easy to drink. Cod Tongues and Stuffed Jalapenos are tasty. The service is super friendly. They source their own green from their rooftop and also have tours there. Curious to go.

Cute hipster brewery pub located in Leslieville! Gets super busy in the evening so reservations prior to dining is highly recommended. Food overall was great. Their mussel dish was my favorite, almost wanted to order a second one. Overall 4.5/5 stars. Only let down was it took a while for some of our food to come.

This is definitely a kid-friendly space, with lots of families dining here for weekend brunch. We chose to sit at the bar for a bit of space from the bustle, and it turned out to be a good call. The staff were very nice and attentive, and ...

Had a great lunch at Avling. I got the [Welcome to] the club sandwich. The heritage bacon was a perfect balance of crunchy and tender, and the edamame guacamole was a pleasant surprise that was the star of the show. The service was friendly and efficient. Great spot for a group.

Amazing food - so much more than a brewery / bar! We walked past Avling and saw that they do a 'Sunday roast', coming from the UK we immediately booked as roasts are few and far between in Toronto. My partner said it was the best roast he'd ever had and with us coming from Yorkshire, the Yorkshire puddings were a true test - they did not disappoint. Will 100% be returning. Beer and atmosphere great too.

Love this spot! The service is always so friendly and the food delicious and aesthetically pleasing. Both times I've come I've been with a large group and the servers are always so great and accommodating. Tonight I got the beet & goat cheese salad and it was beautifully plated and had such a generous portion of goat cheese and hazelnuts. Loved the 3 kinds of beets. So tasty! Didn't love the lamb spiedini, it was a little overcooked/tough/dry but was okay. Had some of my partner's fancy fries and they're so good! Looking forward to coming back soon.
